“Kiss me goodnight”

In Your Arms by Kina Grannis

This video is amazing. It’s made completely of Jelly Belly jellybeans. That is such a commitment.

Photos from Cinque Terre

I can’t say how happy I am to have been able to go to Cinque Terre. It is one of the places in Italy that I’ve enjoyed the most, next to probably Venice. It was a nice, quiet day. I find that I’m happiest when I’m around water. It’s something rather interesting that I have learned about myself. I find it soothing and relaxing, something I would love to experience more since our lives are filled with chaos these days.

No Internet

I don’t have internet in my apartment right now. Haven’t had it since Wedneday night. It really fucking blows. I never realized how much it sucks not having internet until I didn’t have it. I don’t even have 4G! Ahhhh. It’s driving me crazy. I have to spend all my time at school now to get anything done. Grrr. Better be fixed by Tuesday… or else…

Don’t jump in the water, if you can’t swim

Hope

I have hope that one day everything is going to work out. Friends, relationships, school, careers, everything. Do I hope too much?

The airport was so empty today. My mom, Steve and Curtis all left today. It’s a sad day. I’m pretty tired now. I wish Curtis could have stayed with me the rest of my time here, that would be wonderful. But it was so nice that he came here to see me, knowing that it’s so expensive and has stuff going on back home (work, school etc.). It was the greatest birthday surprise when he told me he was thinking of coming here. I’ll never forget that. Not too much longer now!

The lock I got for Curtis and I. There is a statue on the bridge in Florence with all the shops on it. It is surrounded by a fence, and on the fence are tons of locks with people’s names. It was the perfect way to end his trip here. Just a little gesture showing how strong our relationship is. Cute idea! I wonder how it started.

The pigeon we were feeding at lunch today!

Me and Curtis eating lunch in Venice! Today was such a nice day in Venice, and my third time being there. It’s probably my favourite place in Italy that I have been to so far. It was so nice and sunny, and I just enjoyed being able to stroll around casually while enjoying the scenery. I can’t wait to go back.

“You look really good, without your clothes on”
—Best Quote in My Best Friend’s Wedding lol

I have been taking Polaroids here in Italy and displayed them for my midterm. I used frames that I found and then broke them open, put my own stuff in, and closed it back up. The frames were extremely dirty and I had to paint them white to make them look nicer. Well, they were very difficult to pop open and then when I closed the clips, some broke off and others became loose. Curtis helped me put my work up Monday night so it was all ready when I went to my critique today. When I got there, some of the images had fallen as you can see! So depressing, but easy enough to fix. I can’t wait to see all 3 frames together. Exciting. I have really been enjoying taking Polaroids. They are so much fun and I’ve always wanted an instant camera!

My midterm critique photo set up at the studio. I think it went pretty well. The only upsetting thing was my Polaroids in my frame started falling off, but that can be fixed. It’s a different project than what is depicted here, obviously. There was a lot of great feedback and I feel a lot better about it than I did last semester.

Today we went to Pisa! It was very cold and rainy, but still enjoyable. We walked through the city, over the river, went into the cathedral and took some pictures by the leaning tower. We ate pasta at a nearby restaurant and froze on the train ride home :p More pictures to come! We’ve only just begun.
